Terms of Use
Kasi Insight · Effective 16 October 2026
Draft for legal review. This text has not yet been approved and may change before it takes effect.
These terms explain the rules for using Kasi Insight's website and online services. Please read them: by using the website, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
1. About these terms and who we are
The website at kasiinsight.com, its subdomains and the online services we offer through it (together, the "website") are owned and operated by Kasi Insight Inc., a company incorporated in Canada with its office at 140 Yonge Street, Suite 200, Toronto, Ontario M5C 1X6. Kasi Insight Inc. owns the website, its content and the Kasi trade marks.
Our Kenyan subsidiary, Kasi Insights Limited (Riara Corporate Suites, Riara Road, Nairobi), runs our operations and is the company that usually signs research and data agreements with clients. In these terms, "Kasi", "we" and "us" mean Kasi Insight Inc. and its subsidiaries, including Kasi Insights Limited in Kenya and Kasi Insights Uganda Limited.
These terms cover:
- browsing our website, reading our insights and articles, and downloading free reports;
- contacting us, requesting a demo and subscribing to our newsletter;
- logging in to our client platforms, and buying reports or platform access online.
Paid services have their own agreements. Research projects, subscriptions, data licences (including the Kasi Consumer Confidence Index) and access to client platforms are governed by the proposal, contract, order form or licence you sign with us (your "client agreement"). If you buy a report or platform access online without signing a client agreement, section 3 explains the purchase terms. If your client agreement conflicts with these terms, your client agreement wins.
Taking part in research is covered by the information and consent you receive for that study, and by our Privacy Policy, not by these terms.
2. Using our website
The website is for adults: you must be at least 18 to use it, which matches our Privacy Policy. If you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that organisation.
When using the website, you must not:
- break any law, or infringe anyone's rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights;
- use robots, scrapers, crawlers or other automated tools to copy, collect or monitor content or data from the website, except standard search-engine indexing;
- use any content or data from the website to train, fine-tune or benchmark artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, or to build a competing product or dataset, without our written permission;
- try to get around paywalls, logins, download limits or other access controls, or access parts of the website you are not authorised to use;
- reverse engineer, decompile or interfere with the website, its security or its servers, or overload them;
- upload viruses or other harmful code;
- send spam, or use the website to collect other people's contact details;
- frame or mirror the website, or present our content as your own or as coming from someone else;
- give false information when you contact us or register.
We may investigate and take action against anyone who breaks these rules, including blocking access and reporting unlawful activity to the authorities.
3. Accounts, client platforms and online purchases
Some parts of the website, such as our client platforms, need an account. Your client agreement, or the plan you bought online, sets who may have an account and what they can access.
If you have an account, you must:
- give accurate details and keep them up to date;
- keep your login details confidential and not share your account; each login is for one named person unless your client agreement says otherwise;
- tell us straight away at info@kasiinsight.com if you think someone else has used your account.
You are responsible for what happens under your account. We may suspend an account to protect its security, for example after suspicious activity, and will tell you why where we can.
When your organisation's subscription ends, or you leave that organisation, your access ends too.
Buying online. You can buy some reports and platform plans on the website without signing a client agreement. When you do:
- Kasi Insights Limited (Kenya) is the seller, and your receipt shows its details.
- The price, currency, what is included and the number of users are shown before you pay, with any taxes that apply.
- You can pay by card through Stripe or by M-Pesa. We do not store your full card details.
- You may use what you buy under the licence in section 4, for yourself or within your organisation, limited to the number of users in your plan.
- If a plan renews automatically, we will say so before you pay and remind you before each renewal. You can cancel at any time before the next renewal in your account settings or by emailing info@kasiinsight.com; access continues until the end of the period you paid for.
- We will give at least 30 days' notice of a price change to a renewing plan.
- Because reports and data are available as soon as you pay, we do not refund purchases once you have downloaded or accessed them, unless the content is faulty or not as described. If something is wrong, tell us within 14 days and we will fix it, replace it or refund you.
Nothing in this section affects your rights under consumer protection law.
4. Our content, data products and your licence
Kasi Insight Inc. or its licensors own the website and everything on it: reports, articles, charts, indices (including the Kasi Consumer Confidence Index), datasets, software, designs, logos and trade marks ("our content"). These terms do not transfer any ownership to you.
What you may do with free content. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to view, download and print our free content for your own information, or for internal use within your organisation. You may quote short extracts, such as a headline figure or a chart, in your own work, if you:
- credit Kasi Insight as the source and link to the original where you can;
- do not change the figures or present them out of context;
- do not suggest that Kasi endorses you, your product or your conclusions.
What you may not do without our written permission:
- republish, sell, license or redistribute our content, in whole or in substantial part;
- use our data in a commercial product, index, model or service;
- remove copyright notices or other marks from our content;
- use the Kasi name or logo.
Paid content and data products. Reports, datasets and platform data you access through a subscription or licence may be used only as your client agreement allows or, if you bought them online, as section 3 allows.
To ask for wider use, email info@kasiinsight.com.
5. Information you send us
Enquiries, demo requests and briefs. When you contact us or share a project brief, we use it only to respond, prepare a proposal and manage our relationship with you. You keep ownership of what you send. We treat briefs and business information you mark as confidential, or that is obviously confidential, as confidential, and we are happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement before you share detail. We handle any personal data under our Privacy Policy.
Feedback and ideas. If you send us suggestions about our website, products or research, we may use them to improve our services without paying you or crediting you. This applies only to the suggestions themselves, not to your confidential information or your own materials.
Your responsibility. Do not send us anything you do not have the right to share, or any sensitive personal data we have not asked for.
6. Our insights are not investment, financial or legal advice
Our research, indices and analysis are designed to support your decisions, not to make them for you. Nothing on the website is investment, financial, tax, legal or other professional advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or asset.
Please keep in mind:
- Indices and survey results, including the Kasi Consumer Confidence Index, measure reported opinions from samples of people. They have limits, which we explain in our methodology documents, and they can change from month to month.
- Forecasts, scenarios and outlooks are judgements about the future. They may turn out to be wrong.
- Content reflects what we knew when it was published and may not be updated.
You are responsible for your own decisions. Before acting on our content, consider taking independent professional advice.
7. Third-party links, content and services
The website may link to other websites, or include content and data from third parties, such as official statistics or partner material. We include these for convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Their own terms apply.
Some features of the website rely on third-party services, such as payment providers. Using those features may also mean accepting the provider's terms.
8. Disclaimers, liability and indemnity
Disclaimers. We work hard to keep the website accurate, secure and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of viruses, or that free content is complete, accurate or up to date.
What we are not liable for. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for:
- loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, data or goodwill;
- indirect or consequential loss;
- loss caused by your reliance on free content, or by events outside our reasonable control.
Our maximum liability. Our total liability to you for anything arising from your use of the website under these terms is limited to CAD 100, or the amount you paid us for website access in the previous 12 months if that is higher. Liability under a client agreement is governed by that agreement.
What these terms do not limit. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your rights under Kenya's Consumer Protection Act, 2012 and other consumer protection laws.
Your responsibility to us. If you break these terms or use the website unlawfully, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, including legal fees, from any claim brought against us as a result. This does not apply where the loss was caused by our own fault.
9. Suspension, changes and termination
Changes to the website. We may update, change or withdraw parts of the website or free content at any time, for example to add products or retire old reports. Changes to paid services follow your client agreement.
Changes to these terms. We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the effective date at the top and, for significant changes, post a notice on the website and email account holders at least 30 days before the changes take effect. If you keep using the website after that, the updated terms apply. If you do not agree, please stop using the website.
Suspension and termination. We may suspend or end your access to the website, or to an account, if you break these terms, if we must do so by law, or to protect the website, our users or others. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we end access to a paid service, your client agreement, or section 3 for online purchases, decides any refund.
Sections 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 continue to apply after your access ends.
10. Privacy, law and general terms
Privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data, including through cookies. It forms part of these terms.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. This does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, or under the data protection laws that apply to your personal data. Your client agreement sets the law that governs paid services.
Disputes. If you have a concern, please contact us first; we will try to resolve it within 30 days. If we cannot, the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction, but you may also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live if your local law gives you that right.
General.
- These terms, our Privacy Policy and any client agreement are the whole agreement between us about using the website.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a group company or to a buyer of our business; your rights will not be reduced.
- These terms are written in English. If we provide a translation and the two differ, the English version applies.
